Instructional Programs

PROGRAMS FOR EVERY LEVEL OF THE SPECTRUM

We have three program levels to provide embedded supports in each type of classroom. The programs offered are the Academic Program, the Modified Academic Program, and the Functional Academic Program.

Campus Locations

Academic Program
The student is working at or near grade level, based on standardized assessment, qualifies to take regular state assessment, communicates at or near typical range, and has the ability to follow the general education curriculum.
 
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
  • Ability to access learning in a whole group setting
  • Ability to transition within the classroom setting independently
  • Independent with age-appropriate hygiene and daily living skills
Modified Academic Program
The student may have scattered skills in specific academic areas but demonstrates deficits in academic domains overall. Likely qualifies for alternative state assessment, has moderate communication deficits, and has the ability to follow modified and differentiated curriculum.

  • Independent with age-appropriate hygiene and daily living skills
Functional Academic Program
The student benefits from a highly structured ABA-enriched environment (i.e. clinical model), the student has significant intellectual, developmental, and communication deficits. Qualifies for alternative state assessment, and requires intensive intervention and alternative curriculum across academic domains.
 
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
 
  • Ability to access learning in a small group or individual setting
  • Benefits from Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT)
  • Requires assistance and/or supervision for transitions, hygiene and toileting skills.
